Blyth, Northumberland PhotosThis section features photos from the Port of Blyth, Northumberland and includes views of the harbour, piers, lighthouse, ships, boats and Blyth South Beach. Blyth is the largest port and town in Northumberland with a long history in shipping and shipbuilding. It used to be one of the largest coal exporting ports in Europe, now coal is imported via the harbour at Battleship Wharf. Shipping is healthy and there are always ships coming and going at the South Harbour, Alcan Quay, Wimbourne Quay and Battleship Wharf. A number of fishing boats use the port and in the South Harbour the marina is always bristling with yacht masts. Blyth South Beach is a fine beach used reguarly by walkers, families and water sports enthusiasts. It is common to see dog walkers, jet skiers, surfers, canooists, sea anglers and families all using the beach at once. * We have hundreds of Blyth photos - please use the links on the left or bottom of page to view the various pages of Blyth Photos. The photos may take a while to load depending on your connection speed.
