Hexham Abbey, Northumberland.Hexham Abbey dominates the town centre and is one of Northumberlands most well known buildings and visitor attractions. It is also still very much a place of worship and is the Parish Church of Hexham. The Abbey was founded by Saint Wilfrid in the 7th century, some of which still exists, but most of the current building dates from the 12th and 13th centuries. The nave appears to have been rebuilt in the fifteenth century. The photos may take a while to load depending on your connection speed.
