Parish Church of St. Gregory the Great, Kirknewton, Northumberland.

This church is of eleventh century or even earlier and was restored in 1860 with the tower being added a few years later.

The walls of the church are very thick, clearly to guard against fire and assault.

In the churchyard are war graves of British and Canadian Pilots who died while flying from nearby Millfield Air Base during the Second World War.
