St. Bartholomew's Church, Kirkwhelpington, Northumberland. The current church was consecrated in the 13th century. St. Bartholomew's at one time is thought to have been cruciform. It has a long nave with centre aisle only, the tower is low and broad with heavy buttresses. There is also a tower arch to the nave which shows a zigzag decoration which remains a mystery.
