Church of St. John the Baptist, Meldon, Northumberland.

St. John the Bapist Church was consecrated in the 13th century.

In 1310 the church was declared by the Dean and Chapter of Durham to be 'mother parish church'.

There is a unique pair of tombstones, set pillow-fashion between uprights referring to the deaths in 1691-3 of the children of James Thompson.
