Photos of Rothley Castle, Northumberland.Rothley Castle was built as a folly and is not a genuine medieval castle. It is situated on a hilltop beside the road from Rothbury to Scots Gap from where there are commanding views of the Northumberland countryside. In fact - an ideal place for a castle! All that remain are a few ruins, though some restoration work has been carried out recently. Please note - the photos on this page may take a while to load depending on the speed of your connection.
